Your questions answered
Why use a Hosted LMS?
Setting up and managing a hosted LMS will be pain free, as you’ll have the support of our engineers dedicated to looking after your system, guaranteeing that your courses stay online 24/7 and that your data remains safe. This effectively frees up your time, allowing you to focus on gaining the most from your LMS solution.
Learners can access their courses anytime using any mobile device, making the educational process even more convenient. And as your business grows, a hosted LMS can easily scale with you as you will already have the necessary infrastructure in place.
What does hosted LMS mean?
With learning management systems, there are two types of hosting that are available: SaaS (software as a service) or local hosting.
SaaS hosting means your LMS vendor hosts on its own servers, whilst your training data is stored in the cloud. This service also includes the ongoing management and maintenance of your LMS solution, freeing up internal resources.
Local hosting means your organisation hosts and manages your LMS, and training data, on your own internal servers. This option requires on-site IT technicians to manage on an ongoing basis.
Do you offer SSL certificates?
All our implementations include Domain Validated (DV SSL) certificates as standard.
Does Wahoo Learning have any options for additional SSL certificates?
For additional assurance, Organization Validated (OV SSL) or Extended Validation (EV SSL) certificates can be requested.
What kind of eLearning content can I host?
Content can include: eLearning packages in SCORM format, videos, downloadable files (pdf, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and many more), images, animations, wikis, web pages and assessments. Also available are peer-to-peer activities, such as noticeboards, forums and whiteboards.
Where are your servers located and who has access to them?
We host using Amazon Web Service (AWS), with the servers geographically located in Ireland. Access to the servers is strictly controlled and restricted to those working to provide technical support and development of the solution.
How can you help me get my hosting set up and ready to use as quickly as possible?
Once you become a customer, we will get the ball rolling straight away. Your LMS will be created with a domain of your choice and a development version available for you to access and test within a matter of days. A dedicated project manager will work with you to gather the necessary details to build and deliver your solution as quickly as possible.
Can Wahoo Learning offer supplementary security for our educational hosting?
At Wahoo Learning we take security seriously and our standard hosting plans offer advanced security features. If you do however have specific security requirements, then we are happy to discuss these with you and add additional measures as needed.
What kind of SLA do you offer for your hosting and management service?
Our hosting is backed by our comprehensive SLA, which offers 99.99% uptime, regular security and functionality updates, a fully managed service and dedicated support.
Do you offer a disaster recovery plan?
We work proactively to ensure that a major failure is very unlikely to occur, but should disaster recovery be necessary, our servers and backup hourly and we have a full disaster recovery plan in place to ensure your LMS and training are available again within hours, not days.
Can your hosting service scale as our business and training requirements grow?
The hosting is fully scalable as your needs grow, automatically adapting to fluctuation in demand to ensure that your LMS solution performs brilliantly for your users.
